Our creative vision for the Festival is centred on the idea of using a common theme to link all strands of our work, from the main concerts to the educational aspects. Our theme for the 2017 festival is ‘Journeys’ and influences can be found in many forms in our programming, from choral to orchestral music.

Journeys can, of course, be of many kinds. Most obviously, travel to foreign lands has inspired much loved music from composers such as Gershwin and Mendelssohn. Conversely, music itself travels to influence both composers and audiences far from its original point of creation. We will take you on a musical journey from the formality of Vienna to the flamboyance of Mexico and from the lightness of the baroque recorder to the brash ebullience of Copland.

Ein thema ar gyfer Gŵyl 2017 yw 'Teithiau' a cheir dylanwadau mewn sawl ffurf yn ein rhaglenni, o waith corawl i gerddoriaeth gerddorfaol. Byddwn yn mynd â chi ar daith gerddorol o ffurfioldeb Fienna i boethder gwych Mecsico ac o ysgafnder y recordydd Baróc i fywiogrwydd sydyn Copland.
