Noye's Fludde

Mid Wales Opera joins forces with young musical talent from North Wales to present a dynamic new telling of Noah's Flood with words from the medieval Chester Miracle play and the music of Benjamin Britten.

Mrs Noye has lost her way. She has got mixed up with ‘the wrong sort’ and has abandoned her husband and her children. Mr Noye has become increasingly obsessed with the effect of deforestation on the climate and is looking to save the planet and his marriage…

A lively and witty take on a familiar story involving hundreds of young actors, singers, instrumentalists and dancers working alongside a professional orchestra and principal singers, with choreography created by Ballet Cymru. The project is being supported by the Arts Council of Wales, the Colwinston Trust and Size of Wales - a unique scheme to sustain an area of tropical rain forest the size of Wales as part of the national response to climate change.

Our very own Artistic Director, Ann Atkinson, will be playing the part of Mrs Noye, and the part of Mr Noye will be played by the baritone James Harrison.

There will be a retiring collection for the St. Asaph Flood Relief Fund.
