The Vale of Clwyd Singers was formed in 2012 by a group of experienced and professional performers in the Vale of Clwyd and the North West. We started as a quintet singing carols and collecting money for local charities. Knowing that the competition with the immensely popular Male voice Choir tradition in North Wales was a battle not worth fighting, we decided to expand into an a capella (unaccompanied voices) group specialising in Italian and English madrigals, folk songs, rounds and cannons, and more recently, scat, swing and jazz. Recent concerts included a celebration of the Centenary of Liverpool’s Alder Hey Childrens’ Hospital held in Liverpool’s famous Anglican Cathedral. Following recent critical acclaim, invitations to appear at Music Festivals have come from Conwy, and Malpas, and we feel privileged to appear tonight as performers in the the North Wales International Music Festival at St Asaph Cathedral.

We have appeared regularly in the Cathedral in a series of fundraising recitals in aid of this Festival and our next performance will be Handel’s “Messiah”, in this Cathedral at 7.30 on Saturday 5th December 2015. The Vale of Clwyd Singers will be accompanied by the newly-formed and very talented North East Wales Symphonia. Please put this important occasion in your diary.

Robert Sells

The Board of NWIMF would like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Sells and the Vale of Clwyd Singers for their wonderful fundraising concerts over the past three years and all of their continuing support.
