NEW Sinfonia

Established in 2011 by Robert and Jonathan Guy, the NEW Sinfonia is an orchestra based in North Wales that is creating performance opportunities for outstanding young musicians. The team of players comes from across North Wales and beyond and can boast that as well as having studied in some of the world’s leading music conservatoires; they have also performed in some of the best known international orchestras and festivals.

The NEW Sinfonia performs each year in Llangollen, Wrexham, Mold, St Asaph and Llandudno, delivering a vibrant programme across the whole musical spectrum. The orchestra will be returning to the North Wales International Music Festival in 2015, having already performed there with Karl Jenkins in 2012, and Prof. Paul Mealor in 2013.

The orchestra were delighted that the Arts Council of Wales recognised the quality and vision of the orchestra, by awarding a grant to develop a year long lunchtime concert series, aimed at increasing awareness of the organisation and building on its audience base.

In an effort to grow our roots in the community, the organisation will be collaborating with ‘Your Space’ in Black Park Chapel near Chirk, to introduce children with autism to musical instruments to help them develop and express their creativity.
